It was the end of the line for another long-running series last night as “The Office” ended its run after nine seasons. Back for the finale was Steve Carrell, who showed up as the substitute best man at Dwight’s wedding. Fitting that he was a part of the finale!!!

Perhaps the most famous athlete in the world says he’s hanging up his cleats for good. David Beckham announced yesterday he will retire when his current team Paris Saint-Germain’s season ends later this month. Beckham lives in London with his wife, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and the couple’s four children. ‘Hope this doesn’t mean he’s retiring from his underwear modeling gigs too?!?!?

Former NFL and reality TV star Chad Johnson (formerly Chad Ochocinco) is a wanted man after police say he failed to report to a probation officer. Johnson was sentenced to a year of probation after pleading no contest to assaulting his ex-wife Evelyn Lozada.

It was revealed “The Voice” will be going back to its roots while also keeping the status quo. It was announced Cee Lo Green will be back for season five joining the returning Christina Aguilera to bring back the original judges panel this fall, according to Entertainment Weekly. But the show will also keep the current lineup, saying Shakira and Usher will not be gone for long as the pair will team with Adam Levine and Blake Shelton next spring for season six of the NBC singing competition. As long as Blake and Adam are a part of it, it doesn’t matter who the other two are!!!

There’s little doubt at the box office this week as the new “Star Trek” movie is set to claim top honors. “Star Trek Into Darkness” opened yesterday. Director J.J. Abrams brings back Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana and Benedict Cumberbatch as the villain threatening the crew of the Enterprise. Also opening up is the CIA thriller “Erased, “starring Aaron Eckhart as Ben Logan, who discovers he and his daughter have been marked for termination as part of an international conspiracy.

More details were revealed about Angelina Jolie’s precautionary surgeries to remove her healthy breasts after discovering she was at high risk for developing breast cancer. She revealed Tuesday that she carried a defective BRCA1 gene that elevates risk of developing breast and ovarian cancer – both of which her mother had. Her physician, Dr. Kristi Funk of the Pink Lotus Breast Center in Beverly Hills said the actress had mastectomies in February, followed by reconstruction with implants in April. She said all the surgeries were performed through the crease under each breast and that new teardrop-shaped implants and cadaver skin were used to make a more natural look. And she added that Brad Pitt “was on hand to greet her as soon as she came around from the anesthetic, as he was during each of the operations.”

Congrats to “Homeland” actress, Morena Baccarin, who is expecting her first child with hubby Austin Chick. The 33-year-old Brazilian actress plays Jessica Brody, the wife of Nicholas Brody on the smash Showtime series. Claire Danes started the trend on the set, after giving birth to a son last December.

It’s not even musical chairs at “American Idol” when it comes to the judges’ panel anymore…it’s just plain old empty chairs. The latest to give up her seat is Nicki Minaj, who will reportedly not be returning to the competition show next fall. “It’s safe to say she isn’t coming back to ‘Idol,’” an insider told Us Magazine. Instead she will be focused on her next album, touring and endorsements. “She had a great time, but was only going to do one season anyway.” This comes shortly after Randy Jackson announced he’s leaving after 12 seasons.

He wasn’t exactly a prince to Kim Kardashian, but now that he’s officially divorced from her, Kris Humphries has to bat the women off. While stepping out at the SLS Hotel South Beach’s Hyde Beach in Miami, “a security guard was stationed to keep [the bikini-clad female fans] at bay,” an onlooker told People. Another source chimed in that he “loved all the attention, but didn’t take it too seriously.”

Demonstrating her strength and overcoming an eating disorder, 20-year-old Demi Lovato revealed some fresh ink on her shoulder on Twitter. IT reads ‘Now I’m a warrior,’ lyrics from her song, “Warrior,” on which she sings about having thicker skin and overcoming personal battles. “Thanks @BangBang! (tattoo artist) Album release day!!! #DEMI,” she posted. Back in April, she said her favorite tattoo was on her feet, reading ‘Let go’ and ‘Let God,’ which she describes meaning “Okay” to the man upstairs. “Take it from here, cause I don’t know what I’m doing.”

Brad Pitt is showing steadfast support for Angelina Jolie’s choice to have a double mastectomy. “Having witnessed this decision firsthand, I find Angie’s choice, as well as many others like her, absolutely heroic,” he stated. “I thank our medical team for their care and focus. All I want is for her to have a long and healthy life with myself and our children. This is a happy day for our family.” In her op-ed piece in the New York Times, she described Pitt as “loving and supportive” and that he was there for her “for every minute of the surgeries.”

Quick to contribute support for Angelina’s decision, Sheryl Crow, who beat breast cancer herself in 2006, praised the actress for speaking openly about her decision to undergo the surgeries after she learned from genetic testing that she had an 87% chance of developing breast cancer. “I commend Angelina Jolie for her courage and thoughtfulness in sharing her story today regarding her mastectomy. So brave!” She also tweeted, “Ladies, please check out Angelina Jolie’s story today, especially if you have breast cancer in your family history.”

Say ‘so long’ to Stefon…Bill Hader has announced he is leaving “Saturday Night Live” and this weekend will mark his last hoorah on the show after an eight-year stint. “It was a hard decision, but it has to happen at some point,” he expressed to the New York Times. “It got to a point where I said, ‘Maybe it’s just time to go.’” Bummer!! We will miss your social recommendations, Stefon!

Amidst rumors swirling that she is pregnant, Beyonce canceled her concert in Belgium due to dehydration and exhaustion. Her publicist told the AP she was advised by her doctors to rest.

Jenny has bought herself a big block! Bronx native Jennifer Lopez has plunked down $10 million for a luxurious home in the Hamptons after touring it seven times, reports the New York Post. The estate boasts 8,500 square feet, 8 bedrooms, 7.5 baths, 3 acres of land and a pool, spa, theatre and sauna. This marks her fourth property in her collection, as she already owns two NY homes and a mansion in Hidden Hills, CA.

Rumors stemming from the New York Post have many speculating that Beyonce and hubby Jay-Z are expecting a sibling form daughter Blue Ivy. However, a source told People the baby might not be on the way quite yet. “Beyonce and Jay are planning for another baby after her tour is over and things calm down a big,” the insider revealed. As for Bee, she recently told “Good Morning America,” “I would like more children. I think my daughter needs some company…at some point when it’s supposed to happen.”

The last time he was in a courtroom in Las Vegas, he was cuffed and traipsed off to prison for 33 years. Yesterday, O.J. Simpson returned to court with new lawyers, hoping to convince a judge that his previous lawyer shouldn’t have handled his case and that he had an agenda, so he’s due for a new trial. The five-day proceedings will not include a trial – just a decision from the judge as to whether or not he deserves a new trial. Here we go again!

Congrats to Elizabeth Banks, who announced with her hubby Max Handelman that they welcomed their second son, Magnus Mitchell, via a surrogate. “My 2-year-old just sang ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ to his baby brother and my heart burst,” she gushed on Twitter. The proud parents’ son Felix was born in 2011. Aww – too cute!

More congrats are in order for “Today” show co-host Savannah Guthrie, 41, who is now engaged to her beau, Mike Feldman, 44. The communications consultant proposed during a tropical vacation with champagne and a beautiful sunset as the backdrop for popping the question. She said she didn’t realize what was happening until he offered her the ring. This will mark the second marriage for her and first for Feldman.

This week marks the splashy network presentations to announce their fall lineup and do their best at attracting advertisers. Fox announced 11 new shows, but is canceling “Touch,” “Goodwin Games,” “Mob Doctor” and “Cops.” For “24” fans, perhaps the most exciting news is the return of the fantastic Keifer Sutherland show in the form of a miniseries. NBC introduced a new sitcom, “The Michael J. Fox Show,” as the actor portraying a news anchor who has Parkinson’s disease. The network also revealed a new drama, “Blacklist,” featuring James Spader as a criminal fugitive who surrenders to the FBI and even works with them to solve crimes, and “Dracula,” starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers (“The Tudors”). Jack is back, everyone!

After 27 years with ABC News, Barbara Walters has announced she is retiring from television journalism next summer. “I am very happy with my decisions and look forward to a wonderful and special year ahead both on ‘The View’ and with ABC News,” she stated. “I created ‘The View’ and am delighted it will last beyond my leaving it.” She will remain as Executive Producer of “The View” after leaving her on-air gigs.

“Mother’s Day is one of my favorite holidays because it’s a special day to honor my role model and best friend,” Kim Kardashian explained of yesterday’s celebration. “As I’m counting the days until I finally get to be a mother, I’m a bit nervous and anxious but also excited knowing that I learned from the very best.” Aw – cute.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s “The Great Gatsby” proved the Roaring ‘20s are not a phenomenon of the past – the 3-D adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic debuted with $51.1 million, coming in second place behind the expected first place box office winner, “Iron Man 3,” which scored $72.5 million. In third was “Pain and Gain” with $5 million, followed by the Lionsgate’s new romantic comedy, “Peeples,” which fell short of expectations with just $4.9 million, and “42” with $4.7 million.

Jessica Alba was spotted celebrating Mother’s Day yesterday with her two daughters, mom and hubby Cash Warren at the Bel-Air Hotel for brunch.

Last night marked the annual star-studded White House Correspondents’ Association dinner and President Obama did a good job taking jabs at himself. He kidded the years are catching up with him and he’s “not the strapping young Muslim socialist” he used to be. He also released some photos of him with bangs, channeling those his wife Michelle sports. The night began with a fabulous spoof by Kevin Spacey on his “House of Cards” political Netflix series coined “House of Nerds.” “I may lie, cheat and intimidate to get what I want, but at least I get the job done,” he said. “So I hope some of you are taking notes.”

Congrats to Michael Jordan, who tied the knot with former model Yvette Prieto Saturday. Approximately 300 guests, including Spike Lee and Tiger Woods were in attendance as they exchanged vows. The reception took place at the private golf club in Jupiter, FL. Entertainment included DJ MC Lyte, Robin Thicke and Usher.

“Ever since I had the baby, I can’t remember anything. Serious, the child stole my brain.” That’s what Reese Witherspoon told Britain’s Red magazine about the toll her third child Tennessee took on her. She’s also mom to Ava, 13, and Deacon, 9, form her first marriage to Ryan Phillippe. “I’m losing friendships over forgetting to get back to people. But you can’t keep up with everything.” She also talked about how she’s a huge advocate for women’s rights and equality in pay. “Even now in America, a woman makes 87 cents to every dollar a man makes. If you’re a black woman, you make 75 cents. You’re a latin woman, it’s 67 cents. And this is dong the same job. There is enormous inequality in pay.” Even she has some bad days too, and says even though “every day is not a success, every years is not a success; you have to celebrate the good.” Good stuff, Reese!

The Best Actress title went to Helen Mirren for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in “The Audience” at London’s Olivier Theatre Awards last night. Luke Treadaway scored Best Actor for “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.” The production led the evening with eight nominations, as the musical “Top Hat” had seven.

Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s “Pain & Gain” muscled its way to the top of the box office, raking in $20 million. That knocked Tom Cruise’s “Oblivion” to second with $17.4 million, followed by the baseball film “42,” which earned $10.7 million. In fourth was Lionsgate’s comedy “The Big Wedding” with $7.5 million, followed by “The Croods,” with $6.6 million.

“Every time he started to feel he would stifle it,” Ray Liotta, who plays Roy Demeo, described the lead character at press day in New York City. “But this guy wasn’t a serial killer – he was a hit man and there’s a big difference.  At the end of the day this is a really good movie…and people are fascinated by worlds they are not involved in – I am – I like watching movies I know nothing about. It might even surprise people too, because you do start liking the guy.”

Also in Manhattan were Michael Shannon and Winona Ryder, who chatted up their roles, how they didn’t take it home with them and how she literally blocked out information so she could play the wife Deborah, who denied ever knowing about her husband’s work as realistic as she could.

Q: Michael, had you heard of Richard Kuklinski prior to this project?

Michael Shannon: I didn’t know who Kaklinsky was; I never heard of him. Ariel [Vromen, the director] was an acquaintance of mine and he gave me the script. Then he recommended I watch some of his interviews on YouTube and when I saw him being interviewed, I thought he was a fascinating person and that he would be a great challenge to play the part.

Q: Winona, what kind of research went into playing the wife, Deborah?

Winona Ryder: There wasn’t much research available on her, just mainly him. I’m of the school of thought that I don’t see how anyone can be in a relationship that long, in an era – the 70s, where people had offices and he only had a beeper – there was too many things like that that make me feel she did know to a certain extent, but was in a deep state of denial. To ask questions would have meant she would have had to bear some responsibility.

So, I blocked out with a sharpie everything in the script that she wouldn’t have “known” about. And I did that covering of my ears on set when they were shooting those scenes. I told myself I was going to make this movie about this relationship, and didn’t let myself watch interviews or read about this. It would have made me play the role differently.

Q: Michael, how do you feel about playing a nonfiction role versus a fiction role?

MS: It raises the level of difficulty a bit. If it’s just left to your imagination, it feels harder to fail, because how can you judge my imagination? But what’s doubly hard about this is that it’s a true story but no one knows what the whole true story is – it’s never been told, even by the person. So that makes it fascinating; it’s a docudrama and complete imagination, almost like a detective story.

Q: Did playing this role bother you while filming?

MS: The house I was staying in had an old fashion video game that had all the games from the 80s on it – Pac-Man, Galaga, Missile Command – like 40 games. So I would shoot all day long and then go home and play space invaders until I would go to bed.

Q: Would you ever do a movie based on a video game?

MS: I would definitely do a Space Invaders movie! I would like to move right to left all day, standing with a gun pointed straight up in the air (laughs).

Q: Winona, how did you feel about playing a non-strong female role?

WR: You hear actresses often talking about playing strong roles, but I think playing weaker people can be just as interesting and challenging. We’ve all dealt with denial to a certain degree, but this level is mind boggling. She didn’t want a hard life. She didn’t want to be a single mom and work, so there was an element of greed on her part. I didn’t see her as a victim, despite the touch on domestic violence, which is such a huge global issue. Ariel and I had lots of conversations about that and I thought it should be addressed in the film.

Q: What if you found yourself in that situation – what would you do?

WR: I would hope I wouldn’t even get to a second date! I’m not perfect, but I would hope I’d have a radar for a sociopathic killer, but if he fooled me, I would just take off, regardless of how hard it would be.

Q: Michael, how did you and Winona create the chemistry you had onscreen?

MS: It was the same thing when I did “Take Shelter” with Jessica [Chastain] – you show up, you’re complete and total strangers and then the next day you’re married. You just go on instinct; you don’t have anything else to go on. You have to make each other feel comfortable and that’s the biggest thing with any actor – you worry they are going to judge you or that you’re letting them down. I was nervous to act with Winona Rider – she’s Winona Ryder! She’s one of the biggest movie stars of the last 20 years. It blew my mind that she was playing the part. But she’s so little and fragile, you immediately want to protect her or take care of her. It’s not like she can’t take care of herself, but it was my initial instinct to make sure she was OK. We shot all the crime scenes first, and then she came half way through. She was new and so that also made me feel protective of her because that can be awkward when you show up and everyone already has a relationship.

Q: Did you get the sense that Winona channeled Deborah’s testament that she didn’t know what was going on all that time?

MS: She struggled with it. The way she played it and the way it’s written, Deborah knows something is going on, but she doesn’t know exactly what it is or that it involves murdering people. But then there’s a great scene [in the film] when we’re at a restaurant with friends and she explains his cover – she knows it backwards and forwards. I love that scene because you can just tell the reason she’s doing that is out of love. It’s almost like she’s expressing her love by showing how good she is at lying to all these people.

If Richard never found her or got married, he would have been in jail a lot sooner. She also gave him something to live for. When he finds her, he knows that she is everything to him. As creepy as this whole freakin’ thing is, it’s kind of romantic.

Justin Bieber will not face any charges after police say they found drugs and a stun gun on his tour bus in Sweden. Police say an officer smelled marijuana coming from the bus when it left a hotel. Officers then got a warrant to search the bus and made their discovery. However, they say since the bus was empty, they have no way of knowing who was in possession of the items so no charges will be filed.

It’s the end of the line for country singer Jason Aldean and his wife. The couple has separated seven months after Aldean was caught kissing “American Idol” alum Brittany Kerr, according to US Weekly. A source tells the magazine Jason and wife Jessica Ussery actually split back in January. The couple was high school sweethearts and has two young daughters.

Just days after dumping Khloe Kardashian, “X-Factor” producers may be closing in on a new judge. Jennifer Love Hewitt is in talks to join the judges’ panel of the Simon Cowell singing competition, according to US Weekly. The 34-year-old had some success as a singer about a decade ago. The report also mentions Reba McIntyre and Kelly Rowland as other candidates to take one of the seats left vacant by the departures of Brittney Spears and L.A. Reid.

A country star is behind bars accused of elder abuse and making terroristic threats. Police say Billy Currington made the threats to a tour boat operator, who steered his boat too close to the dock for Billy’s liking earlier this month, according to TMZ. Apparently, Billy then jumped into his own boat and followed the 70-year-old man to a dock where threatened to kill him. Before he was arrested yesterday, he tweeted, “hey guys, I wanted to thank everyone for the huge amount of support that I have received already. Unfortunately, I can’t comment on this.” Doesn’t matter what he did, you can’t go after an old man!!!

Congratulations go out to Dierks Bentley who is about to be a father for the third time. At the stroke of midnight Thursday, he tweeted, “so my wife and I will be changing our family defensive strategy come the fall. Switching from MAN-to-MAN to ZONE. #3!” He then asked fellow father-of-three Tim McGraw for his advice. Tim’s words of wisdom; “With all girls so far you might do best to just join the offense!!” Spoken like a man who lives with a lot of women!!!

The latest Michael Bay action flick “Pain & Gain” highlights the newest offerings at the box office. It stars a very buffed-up Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson as bodybuilders who get caught up in an extortion ring. There’s also “The Big Wedding,” a comedy starring Robert De Niro, Katherine Heigl and Diane Keaton. A couple of limited releases also open this weekend including “Mud” with Matthew McConaughey, “Arthur Newman” starring Emily Blunt and Colin Firth and “At Any Price,” featuring Dennis Quaid and Zac Efron. One to keep an on for next weekend is “Iceman,” starring Michael Shannon and Winona Ryder. Based on a true story, this chilling story of cold-blooded killer Richard Kuklinsky is dark but done with excellent acting.

After making bond and being released from jail, Robert Todd Harrell of 3 Doors Down checked himself into a drug treatment facility. The band’s bassist is accused of driving under the influence and causing a fatal car crash last weekend in a Nashville suburb. He admitted to taking prescription drugs and drinking prior to the incident.

She’s coming back! Jennifer Lopez is headed back to “American Idol,” reports TMZ. Sources say final negotiations could wrap up by next week. Producers apparently believe she is the key to reinvigorating the show.

Congrats to “Unforgettable” star Poppy Montgomery and her beau Shawn Sanford, who welcomed their first child, a daughter, together! Little Violet Grace Devereux Sanford weighed in at 6 lbs., 12 oz., reports People.

After coming under siege in the press over Ann Curry’s dismissal, Matt Lauer urged NBC to bring in a crisis public relations team to stem the tide of negative news. However, sources tell the NY Post that the network explored hiring an outside firm last fall, but eventually denied his request. So he’s been “taking matters into his own hands,” taking a more active role in overseeing public relations plans. He publicly joked that Katie Couric once got a colonoscopy on the “Today” show, but “two weeks ago, I got one in the New York Times.” A spin professional told the newspaper the network should have taken Lauer’s advice and managed the mess. Seriously, he makes $25 million a year – he can afford to bring in the outside firm himself!

You will be so relieved to know that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West reunited in NYC after her divorce saga wrapped up. He’s been working in Paris, France, but owns an apartment in Manhattan.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is home resting after hernia surgery. The 40-year-old “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” star tweeted that the doctor repaired three hernia tears after he suffered torn abdomen and abductor muscles during a wrestling match against John Cena earlier this month. Sorry he’s hurt, but I have to confess I’m sad I missed the two hotties duking it out in the ring!

It’s not true! Sharon Osbourne hit back on “The Talk” yesterday, saying she was not aware her hubby Ozzy had relapsed into drug and alcohol abuse (even though he publicly apologized for it on Facebook) and that she was “devastated” by their struggles. However, she added that they are not divorcing and holding back tears she uttered, “This, too, shall pass.” Nice attempt at a public relations cover up for him, but seriously, the dude apologized for it, which leaves her losing cred, no?

Believe it or not, this is actually making news…Kim Kardashian says she’s now ready for childbirth and has grown accustomed to the aches and pains of expecting a child. “Now I think I’m past the awkward phases and stages, and once you feel the baby kick it’s a whole new experience,” she said Monday at the E! upfronts. “I finally really embrace it. I love it now, but it took a minute. It was a lot, you know, a lot of body changes and stuff.” As for thinking about actually giving birth, she said, “It’s inevitable. It’s gonna happen. I’m really not worried or nervous.” Whew – that’s a load off your mind, right?  

Also attending the E! upfronts was Guiliana Rancic, but what’s up with her barely there body???

The gloves are just flying off and things are getting ugly between Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy amidst their divorce. The reality star is reportedly outraged that “a parenting evaluation has been ordered by the court to try and settle their custody issues,” a source revealed to RadarOnline.com. She’s said to be “furious that her parenting style and methods are going to be questioned…She doesn’t want a complete stranger to come into her home and pass judgment on the way she nurtures Bryn.” Both are in a bitter battle to gain full custody of their daughter. For the first time ever, you kind of feel bad for her, right?
