Melanie ‘Mel B’ Brown has accused her estranged husband Stephen Belafonte of physical and emotional abuse in documents filed in court. The singer is seeking a restraining order against her husband of 10 years, based on her claims that he manipulated and threatened her into staying with him. In the paperwork, she states she is “in fear” for her life and whenever she had career success, “he would beat me down to let me know that he was in charge.” She also says he had sexual relations with their nanny, who had an abortion with Brown’s money after getting pregnant. She added that Belafonte “demanded that I participate in sexual intercourse with him and random women he brought back to our hotel rooms.” And if she refused, he threatened to release videos he took of those encounters without her knowledge. Once when she did an ‘at home’ interview with Usher, he allegedly punched her in the face for “wanting to flirt” with the singer and he punched and pushed her down causing rug burns after performing at the London Olympics with the Spice Girls. She said he made her tweet that she was running in her Louboutin heels and fell. The 41-year-old has been ordered to leave their family’s Los Angeles home and to stay away from Brown, 41, and her three daughters.
Elsewhere, the list of advertisers pulling out of the Bill O’Reilly Show has grown to 21. Among the corporations trying to distance themselves from the program are Allstate, Mitsubishi, Lexus, Bayer, Wayfair and T. Rowe Price. This comes on the heels of the news that the host and Fox News allegedly paid five women $13 million to settle four cases of sexual harassment and one of verbal abuse over the past 15 years – that in addition to two others – Wendy Walsh and Andrea Tantaros – who accused him of inappropriate behavior. The Sleeping Giants, who launched a campaign that led to Breitbart losing more than 1750 advertisers, is behind publicizing the news originally published by The New York Times and the National Organization for Women has called for him to be fired. The latter may not happen, as his show reeled in more than $178 million in 2015.
On the upside, Beyonce has been named the most influential celebrity on Instagram, as D’Marie Analytics found her posts to be worth more than $1 million each. Her naked baby bump pic racked up 10.8 million likes from her 98 million followers. Selena Gomez slid to second with an estimated $775,000 for each of her posts.
Lastly, Daniel Craig may be returning to play James Bond (hallelujah!). The dashing 49-year-old is back in negotiations after Page Six reported that his potential replacement Tom Hiddleston has been ruled out by producer Barbara Broccoli, who reportedly said he was “too smug” and “not tough enough” to play James Bond. Bring it on, Barbara!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
