Celebrity Scoops…updated Wednesday, 6.1.17

Burned by backlash! Kathy Griffin is apologizing for posting a photo and videos of her holding a fake President Trump severed head. “I am sorry. I went too far,” the controversial comedienne tweeted. “I was wrong.” Her apology wasn’t sufficient to quell the legions of critics, both Republicans and Democrats, who attacked her on social media for the over-the-top stunt. The Secret Service opted to remind its Twitter followers that the agency monitors social media and takes all threats against the President seriously. “On it! @SecretService has a robust protective intelligence division that monitors open source reporting & social media to evaluate threats. Threats made against @SecretService protectees receive the highest priority of all of our investigations. #ProtectionNeverRests.” Even Chelsea Clinton expressed outrage over the video, saying, “This is vile and wrong. It is never funny to joke about killing a president.” Anderson Cooper also chimed in saying he was “appalled” by the image and is “clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.”

An update from Tiger Woods’ ‘DUI’ arrest…it turns out the golfer had no alcohol in his system when he was arrested for DUI early Monday morning. Two breathalyzer tests reflected a .000 blood alcohol content. Jupiter police said that the 41-year-old was found asleep at the wheel on the side of the road and needed to be awakened. They also said he was “sluggish and very slurred.” They also reported that Woods had taken several pain medications, including Vicodin, and even failed the sobriety test, as he was unable to place his finger on his nose or walk a straight line. Woods is expected to appear in court on July 8.
