One of the most prolific partnerships in music history has paid off handsomely…in court though. Quincy Jones, who produced hits liked “Thriller,” “Bad,” and “Off the Wall” for Michael Jackson was awarded $9.4 million. A jury yesterday made the determination that he was due funds from a breach of contract stretching back to the 1970s over royalties. Jones claimed the master recordings for those albums were improperly remixed, depriving him of royalties and production fees for which he was entitled. His attorney stated, “We feel he was being treated very poorly by the estate in a way Michael never would have done, and we are glad the jury agreed.” Check out more here.

Angelina Jolie Vanity Fair 2017Angelina Jolie revealed her candid feelings about menopause and dealing with her split from Brad Pitt earlier this year. “…we’re all trying to do our best to heal our family,” she noted. After undergoing a double mastectomy and removing her ovaries, she went into menopause. Her health issues continued, as she admits she developed both hypertension and Bell’s palsy, which caused one side of her face to droop due to damaged facial nerves. “Sometimes women in families put themselves last, until it manifests itself in their own health.” As for her gray hairs, she kidded, “I can’t tell if it’s menopause or if it’s just been the year I’ve had.” These days she is putting her family first and “in charge of my life and my health; I think that’s what makes a woman complete.”
