Celebrity Scoops…updated Friday, 10.13.17

kate-beckinsale-shape-mag-shoot-standing-aroundMore women are coming out against Harvey Weinstein, detailing experiences they had with him. Emma Thompson called the media mogul a “predator,” and Kate Beckinsale described her encounters with him. “I was called to meet Harvey Weinstein at the Savoy Hotel when I was 17. I assumed it would be in a conference room, which was very common. When I arrived, reception told me to go to his room. He opened the door in his bathrobe. I was incredibly naive and young and it did not cross my mind that this older, unattractive man would expect me to have any sexual interest in him. After declining alcohol and announcing I had school in the morning, I left, uneasy but unscathed. A few years later, he asked me if he tried anything with me in the first meeting. I realized he couldn’t remember if he had assaulted me or not.”

Meanwhile, it has come to light that Harvey Weinstein’s contract with The Weinstein Company actually included a clause that allowed him to get sued multiple times for sexual harassment, as long as he paid up. TMZ discovered his 2015 contract states that if he “treated someone improperly in violation of the company’s Code of Conduct,” he must reimburse the company for settlements or judgments. “You [Weinstein] will pay the company liquidated damages of $250,000 for the first such instance, $500,000 for the second such instance, $750,000 for the third such instance, and $1,000,000 for each additional instance.” And if he pays, it constitutes a “cure” for the misconduct and no further action can be taken.

The disgraced movie producer, Weinstein, is said to also be having money troubles . The Daily Mail reports he recently borrowed $4 million for a crisis loan on his Greenwich Village townhouse – and he already had a $6 million mortgage on his $12.5 million property. He’s also slashed the price of his Hamptons estate from $13.5 million to $12.8 million and he sold his mother’s home in Westport, CT, for $1.65 million two days before the scandalous story broke . Maybe karma is finally starting to catch up with him!
