Celebrity Scoops…updated 7.10.12
Katie Holmes was awarded primary legal custody of Suri in her divorce settlement with Tom Cruise. “Tom will be allowed to see Suri, but there are guidelines for visits,” a source tells Us Weekly. However, Katie, in turn, also agreed to various provisions, one of them being “confidentiality,” meaning she can’t yap about their relationship. TMZ also reports that one of the restrictions is that both parents are limited with what they can say about religion to Suri, including Scientology, but those parameters loosen as she gets older.
She may make a great lawyer on television but in real life, Julianna Marguilies is a poor client. That’s what D/F Management says in court documents pertaining to a lawsuit execs filed against her. According to the paperwork, the management firm was hired by the actress in 2009 and they helped her land her big role in “The Good Wife” and as the face of L’Oreal. She still booted them in April, but they say they are out their ongoing 10% commission from her, which totals about $420,000 so far.
Things got extra hot on the set of Sandra Bullock’s latest film “The Heat” yesterday. During a scene, a city bus slammed into an on-set trailer near the Roxbury Municipal courthouse in Boston, where the film is being made. At least 11 people were taken to the hospital for treatment, but none of them had serious injuries. Wrong movie…it’s not “Speed!”
Well that was fast…Savannah Guthrie made her official debut as Matt Lauer’s co-host on NBC’s “Today” show yesterday. The 40-year-old legal analyst said she was honored to have one of the rare jobs “you can describe as fun and actually mean it.” She replaces Ann Curry, who held the position for a year. NBC execs are hoping her official debut bests her unofficial debut, which took place on June 29 – one day after Ann announced her departure. That episode was crushed by ABC’s “Good Morning America” by 670,000 viewers. Poor Ann – I still want to just give her a hug, don’t you?
